Clowning Around with Mad Dog and the Butcher

Maurice "Mad Dog" and Paul "Butcher" Vachon are former pro wrestling brothers. They also have a sister (Vivian) and a niece (Luna) who wrestled. Both had long and successful careers and both were inducted into the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2004.
The Vachon brothers spent most of their careers as dastardly villains. They had a lot of success together and solo. Unfortunately, both developed health problems in recent years, but they are still active onthe wrestling convention scene.
It was at the Cauliflower Alley Club convention where I saw the evil Vachon brothers screwing around a bit for fun. While Mad Dog was signing an autograph for a fan, the Butcher feigned cracking him on the back of his head with his cane.
It was a funny moment. It was a brotherly moment, too. It just seemed odd though, because of their legendary careers as bad guys. It also shows how most wrestlers are at these conventions. They love hanging with other 'old school' wrestlers and they love having fun with their fans.
Wrestlers, as a group, are one of the nicest groups at conventions. Maybe this is true because of the lack of respect they get elsewhere. Maybe it is because deep down they are just funny characters. Either way, they are usually very sociable at conventions.
This picture was just me being in the right place at the right time. Paul didn't announce he was going to goof on his brother. The whole incident probably took about 3 seconds. It was just a natural fun act and I am glad to have gotten the shot.
