Celeb Jersey Cards #94 Burton Cummings & Michael J. Fox

This is a regular series which attempts to combine my passion for trading cards with my interest in celebrities.  How about some old school hockey?

The Guess Who is one of the most underrated rock bands of all-time and certainly one of my favorites.  Burton Cummings was the lead singer and was born in Winnipeg. In 2009, Cummings was named an officer of the Order of Canada, a very prestigious honor.  Cummings was a supporter of bringing a hockey team back to Winnipeg.
When I saw the picture of Cummings goofing with the Jets jersey, I started "laughing".  I have seen a lot of hockey cards, but "these eyes" have never seen one like this.  Cummings is a "star, baby" and that was long before he was ever on a Celebrity Jersey Card.

Fellow Canadian Michael J. Fox was born in Edmonton, but spent a great deal of his youth living in Vancouver.  Fox is very comfortable on skates and often plays in charity games or exhibitions.  Fox has been one of my favorites for years.  I gained even more respect for him when I saw the picture of him wearing the Canucks "V" jersey.  It's an interesting picture, because clearly he isn't playing hockey (look at his shoes), yet he is wearing hockey gloves.  This is a first for Celebrity Jersey Cards.

That Fox card is pretty awesome. I'm digging the celeb cards.

Thanks. I figured so many bloggers were doing great "Cards that never were" about sports, I wanted to do something different. They fit my site, I think.
I love the 1983 blog. I stopped collecting in '82 (for a few years) so most of these cards are new to me.
