First Ace Frehley, Now Peter Criss

When I was growing up, I was a big fan of Kiss.  I never dreamed I would one day meet any of the band.  A couple years ago, I met Ace Frehley and last summer I met Peter Criss, to put my halfway to meeting the whole band.
Kiss is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but like a lot of things with Kiss, it did not come without some controversy.  Which band members would perform at the ceremony?  New?  Old?  All?
It turned out none.  Kiss did not perform because they could not reach an agreement with the R&R HOF about their performance.
Who knows what really went down within the band?  Who knows if the feelings will ever change?  Only time will tell.
Ace was really cool when I met him.  He joked that he could not complain about making cash meeting fans.  It is hard to argue with that.
Likewise, Peter Criss was really cool at Wizard World.  His wife was assisting him at his booth.  I always like seeing stuff like that.  They seem to care more than just a random assistant assigned for the day.
As part of teh media crew, I got to talk to Criss longer than most.  He was relaxed and seemed genuinely happy to be there meeting fans.  He was a bit smaller than I expected, but he had a bigger presence.  Maybe it is more "big" memories from my younger days of following Kiss.
I don't know if I will ever meet Gene Simmons or Paul Stanley, but I never thought I would meet Peter and Ace.  Half of Kiss is better than I ever thought I'd meet.
Peter Criss and me in Rosemont, IL-August 2014.
