A few months ago, my niece Sam Parker finished her first Marathon. I finished my 15th (or so) about an hour after her. This was one of my most cherished Marathons ever.
Preparing and planning, joking and talking, finishing and celebrating...we did it all and I enjoyed every step along the way. I am so glad to have shared this experience with Sam. Times like this can never be replaced.
Today, Sam is celebrating her birthday. She deserves to have a fantastic birthday. She is bright, funny, caring and everything else you would want in a young adult. She has grown up into such a wonderful person. I am proud to know Sam.
