Wizard World Fan Fest with Donovan Scherer

Our continuing coverage of Wizard World Fan Fest brings us to Donovan Scherer, author and illustrator.  Don't let his calm appearance fool you, because he "has a sense of humor and a little bit of dread that everything will go terribly, terribly wrong."
Actually, I learned that from DonovanScherer.com.  At Fan Fest, i discovered that he is a very talented double threat as an author-illustrator.  He also explains that a bit on his site by writing, "I tend to think in cartoon, but since animation would take me longer than I’d like to keep you waiting on my stories, I write and illustrate them instead."
Thinking in cartoons?  That is awesome.  I don't remember ever hearing it put that way before, but it became very clear as I checked out some of his books.  They are full of madness, monsters and pure enjoyment.
His other artwork is just as entertaining.  Vibrant with rich colors, these pieces seem to come to life.  My favorite has movie popcorn fighting a hotdog.  It is beyond cool.  Check it out on his website and see for yourself.  Scherer has a bunch of other great stuff on his site, too.  Be sure to look for "ZomBeans," his first game for iOS and Android, which can be found under the "Otherwise" tab.
Once again, I will quote from his site.  "Are you ready for an illustrated adventure into madness?"  If so, Scherer is you can learn more about Scherer at DonovanScherer.com and his Studio Moonfall Facebook page.
