On the Beat With Sierra Hyland of the Chicago Bandits 2017

We are focusing all of our energy on the Chicago Bandits as they finish the regular season and hopefully head into the NPF playoffs.  Today our coverage features pitcher Sierra Hyland.
Sierra starred at Cal Poly, earning NFCA All-Region honors every season.  She was the first player in school history to achieve that accomplishment.  She did this while excelling on and off the mound.  When not pitching, she saw considerable time at DP and at 3rd base.  As a senior, she went 23-12 with an ERA of .97 and hit .331 with 2 home runs and 36 RBI's.  The Bandits noticed and made her the 4th selection in the 2017 NPF draft.
As of this writing, Sierra is 1-1 with an ERA of 4.06, in 4 appearance, including 1 start.  She has 5 strikeouts in 10.1 innings.
In our interview, we talked to Sierra about her dual roles in college, pitching a perfect game, her highlight in the NPF and more.  Especially following Monica Abbott's no-hitter, it was interesting to hear Sierra's thoughts from a pitcher's perspective.
Thanks as always to the Bandits for allowing me access to do what I love.  Thanks to Sierra for giving her time and consideration.
The Bandits are closing out their regular season with the USSSA Pride this weekend.  Go to ChicagoBandits.com for more news and scheduling info.  Also, keep checking here, as we have continuing coverage and a few more interviews to run.
