Drea Damara at Wizard World Chicago 2015

Author Dream Damara is a native of Illinois.  She began writing poetry at an early age and was published by the time she was 19.  After a stint in the Army, she returned home and began working on fulfilling her writing dream.
In 2015, The Weeping Books Of Blinney Lane was published.  It is best described as a crossover fantasy.  The story features bookshop owner Sarah, who experiences odd happenings daily in her store.  Things get even more complicated when her nephew comes to live with her.  Will he discover the Curse of Blinney Lane?  How will his presence affect things?  The answers unfold in this gripping novel.
It was an excellent first novel and her subsequent efforts have proven that she has the writing chops.  Damara's upbringing, time in the Army, poetic beginnings and more really shape her writing, creating an interesting perspective.
Among her projects is In Creeps the Night, a creepy collection of spooky tales.  Damara contributed The Blessing to the mix.
I had the pleasure of meeting her at Wizard World a couple years back.  I always look forward to discovering new writers at Wizard World.  I encourage all to discover Damara for yourselves.  You can start at DreaDamara.com.
