John J. York at REWind Con 2016

Chicago native John J. York joined General Hospital in 1991 and has played Mac Scorpio ever since.  Mac has been one of the most popular characters throughout those years.
I had the pleasure of meeting York at REWind Con last year.  He talked to us about his lengthy run on GH.  He had a lot of great things to say about his 26+ years on the daytime drama.  Of course, he'd like more storylines, but he also likes the freedom he has to pursue other projects.
His latest project is Resolution Song, which is in post-production.  The movie centers around a young man who uses music to heal a family torn apart by tragedy.
York is one of the longest tenured actors on GH and GH is one of the last remaining daytime dramas.  The future of those type shows is questionable, but I have no doubt York will continue to have success in the acting business.
York's Scorpio is a good guy and well-liked.  From all accounts, the same can be said for York.  He's been married since 1986 and seems to have avoided the bad side of the business.
REWind Con had plenty of problems and it appears to be a one-time only event.  That's too bad, because it allowed fans to meet actors like York, who generally don't do comic con appearances.
John J. York and me in Bloomingdale, IL-November 2016.

That is very cool to meet "Mac" .... and like you said he needs better roles on GH. Not sure what the writers on GH are thinking sometimes.
