Today's Friendly Encounters features two of my favorites. The Man of Mr. Rhee meets the Phenomenal One.
Dirk Manning is the Man of Mr. Rhee and so much more. Mr. Rhee and is just one of Manning's creations. Originally Tales of Mr. Rhee, the book spawned sequels, too. These graphic novels are beautifully illustrated and fantastically written. They are edgy, fascinating and mysterious, of course.
Continuing through Manning's library of books, you'll find Write or Wrong: A Writer's Guide to Creating Comics, Nightmare World and other interesting books. His bibliography is extensive.
AJ Styles brings an impressive resume, too. Long thought of as the face of Impact Wrestling, Styles finally joined the WWE and has continued his penchant for capturing titles. Definitely one of the best and most entertaining wrestlers of his era, Styles is popular worldwide.
Through my many interviews and casual talks with Manning, I learned he is a bit of a wrestling fan. It was great to see him get a picture with Styles. My only criticism is that Styles should have used his title belt to mimic Manning's trademark face covering technique. Then again, when you are meeting stars, you really don't want their faces covered.
