Tori McCoy and the Marquette Golden Eagles

Tori McCoy played basketball her freshman year for Ohio State. She averaged 8.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, while playing in all 35 games, starting 10 of them.
She transferred to Marquette and redshirted last season. Tori was looking forward to playing for the Golden Eagles this season, but life threw her a curveball.
In December of last year, Tori was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure. She started getting dialysis treatments three times a week, while waiting for a transplant.
Hoping to raise awareness to organ donation, Tori went public with her battle. Tori released the following statement.
I had the pleasure of meeting Tori at the recent Marquette Media Day. Tori seemed in great shape and spoke positively about her future and the team. Her teammates, the Marquette staff and the other media folks all were bolstered by Tori's presence. Everyone is rallying around her and keeping her positive while spreading the word on organ donation.
Tori has a rough road ahead of her. Basketball is helping keep her active and in good spirits, but it is also secondary to her main focus right now.
We send prayers and positive thoughts to Tori, while we follow her progress. Check back here for updates on this tough young lady.
You can also follow the Marquette Golden Eagles women's basketball team and the rest of Marquette athletics at GoMarquette.com. You can also directly follow Tori McCoy on Facebook.
