Chante Stonewall and the DePaul Blue Demons

Three games remain in the regular season for the DePaul Blue Demons women's basketball team. The Demons are currently 24-3 and ranked 13th in the nation, while being 14-1 in 1st place in the Big East Conference.
Sunday, the Demons beat Xavier 97-65 to clinch at least a share of the Big East regular-season title, the Blue Demons' sixth in the last seven years. Seniors Kelly Campbell and Chante Stonewall enjoyed their last regular season home game and left the game in the 4th when Coach Doug Bruno pulled each to give the fans a chance to salute the awesome senior duo. Stonewall finished with 15 points, while Campbell netted 9.
For the season, Stonewall is averaging 17.4 points per game, with 5.8 rebounds. She also has 54 assists and 62 blocked shots this season. Stonewall and Campbell lead the team in virtually every category. Stonewall is also 18th in career scoring with 1,518 points.
The Demons have away games with Georgetown, Villanova and Marquette before the season ends. The Demons will be the favorite to win their third straight Big East Conference tourney.
The Big East Tournament runs Mrch 6-9 at Wintrust Arena. This is a weekend of awesome basketball action. As a member of the press for the last two tournaments, I have seen so much great action and so many elite players. Last year, I celebrated a bit with the team on the court right after the victory. I was fortunate enough to get pictures with a few players. It has been a great experience and I look forward to this year's event. I now love it so much, I would go as a fan if I couldn't get press credentials.
The Demons and all the teams deserve to have Wintrust filled with screaming fans. The hometown Demons especially deserve a full house.
