Celebrity Jersey Cards #502 LeRoy Nieman & Jimmy Stewart

Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series in which I create virtual cards for celebrities wearing sports jerseys. Today, we continue our trip alphabetically through the Major League Baseball teams.

Born in Minneapolis, MN, LeRoy Nieman rose to fame for his brilliantly colored, expressionist paintings of pop culture figures. Nieman died in 2012, shortly after his 9st birthday. Nieman earned his Celebrity Jersey Card while throwing a ceremonial pitch for the Chicago White Sox.

Actor Jimmy Stewart was born in Indiana, PA. He had a legendary 60 year acting career, which included a main role in Its A Wonderful Life, a Christmas favorite. He also played the title role in The Stratton Story, the biographical film about White Sox pitcher Monty Stratton. That role earned Stewart his Celebrity Jersey Card.
