DePaul finished their season 28-22 (16-8 in the BIG EAST. They finished in fourth place in the BIG EAST, four games behind UConn.
Junior Tori Meyer was a big part of the DePaul success this season. Starting 49 of 50 games (playing all 50), Meyer hit .342 with five homers, 34 RBIs and 33 runs scored. She has been red hot the last few weeks of the season.
DePaul has been hot at the right time, as they head to the BIG EAST tournament. Their first game is Thursday, against first place UConn. DePaul will need Meyer's bat and big hits from others to beat the Huskies, but don't count out the Blue Demons. They have overcome obstacles before to win this tourney.
On a side note, Tori's parents Corey and Kimberley have been extremely supportive of my coverage of the team. They are always good for a fun chat and picture at the game. Parents like these two make covering the Blue Demons even more special.
