Cards That Never Were: Vince Evans 1979 Topps

Cards That Never Were is a recurring series in which I create virtual trading cards for players missed in various sets. It is a concept I have borrowed from far too many to list, but I appreciate all of their efforts.
I usually don't feature players unless I can create all of their missing cards. Vince Evans is one exception, only because there are too many missing cards and not enough pictures of him.
Evans starred at USC, before the Chicago Bears drafted him in the 6th round of the 1977 NFL Draft. Evans played with the Bears through 1983, then went to the USFL. He returned to the NFL in the strike season of 1987 and stayed with the Oakland Raiders through the 1995 season.
All told, Evans played 100 games (starting 39 during his 15 NFL seasons. He threw for 9,485 yards, 52 touchdowns and 74 interceptions.
For his efforts, Evans received Topps cards in 1981 and '82. That left 13 cards needed to complete his career. I unhappily settled for making a 1979 card. I could have made a '78 card, but the pic I found was from the '78 season and knowing that, I could not bend the rules and put him on a '79 card.
If someone creates any more missing cards of Evans, I'd love to see them. Evans would probably like to see them, too. If you play that long, you should get more cards.

Seeing a missing card for Vince Evans put a smile on my face.

As the backup QB is often very popular, I grew up with friends that were Raiders fans that absolutely loved Evans.
