Bobby Hull

I recently wrote about meeting Doug Plank and Gary Fencik, two of my favorite Chicago Bears. At the same memorabilia show, I met Chicago Blackhawks Hall of Famer Bobby Hull.
Because Hull left the Hawks after the 1971-72 season and the Hawks really weren't on television then, I don't have much of a memory of Hull in the Indianhead sweater. He played several years in the WHA and eventually made it back to the NHL, but not with the Hawks, although that was expected, as the Topps hockey card would indicate.
Hull has had issues off the ice, but on it, he was one of the best, as was his son Brett, who also should have been a Hawk a few times. Even my mom was a big fan of Hull's and the Hawks in general.
Hull looked like he was really enjoying himself as he met the fans at the show. Naturally, the fans were excited to meet the Hall of Famer. Except for a few fans, who seemed to be there to get autographs for resale, the majority just wanted a picture or autograph for personal collections.
Bobby Hull and me in Rosemont, IL-July 2022.
