Appreciating Missa Kate

Although she debuted in 2018, I somehow hadn't seen Miss Kate wrestle until last year. Of course, the pandemic caused some of that, but it doesn't account for the rest of the time.
Trained by Bryce Benjamin and Steve Boz, "Chicago's Sweetheart" has progressed quickly. After years of not seeing her, last years I caught her wrestle for Women's Wrestling Army, 2econd Wrestling and Freelance and each time I was more impressed. I have only seen her wrestle as a heel, a role she fits well/ She is a classic, from her verbal sparring to old school tactics.
She recently signed with the NWA, but will continue to wrestle elsewhere in between NWA appearances. Still in her 20s, Missa Kate should continue to improve. It wouldn't surprise me to see her sign with AEW someday.
Through The Johngy "OR ELSE" podcast, I had the pleasure of interviewing her with Tommy Else. That interview is at The Johngy "OR ELSE" Podcast - Ep. 39: "Missa Kate." I learned a lot about her, including her goals in and out of wrestling. Now I am an even bigger fan of hers.
I don't want to ruin her image, but if you ever meet her after the shows, you will also see she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I look forward to seeing her wrestle more in 2023.
The next time I should see Missa Kate will be at 2econd Wrestling on April 27. She is in a fourway championship match with Arik Cannon and Effy against champ Billie Starkz. For more info on that event, check 2econd Wrestling on Facebook
Missa Kate and me in Northbrook, IL-December 2022.
