Pinfalls is back, with a look at WWE's Night of Champions 2023. Airing Saturday, May 27 at 1:00 pm EST on the Peacock Network, Night of Champions takes place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
As always, my The Johngy “OR ELSE” Podcast partner Tommy Else and I look at the seven scheduled matches, ultimately predicting the winners. The seven matches are:
Intercontinental Championship
Gunther (c) vs. Mustafa Ali
SmackDown Women’s Championship
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Natalya
Raw Women's Championship
Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka
Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus
World Heavyweight Championship
Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. AJ Styles
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship
Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens (c) vs. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa
Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
This year, Tommy has a slight edge on me in predictions. Tommy is 17-6, while I am 15-8. You'll have to watch the video to see how many differences we have, but I will say there is at least one. Again, Tommy and I rarely discuss the WWE storylines before these recordings, but somehow our thought processes are remarkably similar.
There are a few candidates capable of being Match of the Night. Of course, there are a couple that seem like duds on the surface, but you never know what might happen. I have to admit, I wasn't too excited about this show, but as Tommy and I broke down the card, I actually found myself more invested that I thought.
This is an interesting card. Shows in Saudi Arabia are always a wildcard. Saudi Arabian influences can affect outcomes, regardless of ongoing storylines.
