Friend Encounters is a weekly series featuring friends meeting celebrities.
I once again feature my buddy Tony Feddeler and one of the many celebrities he has met. This time, it is not a wrestler, but it is a horror-related person, another of his main interests.
Lauren Marie Taylor co-starred in Friday the 13th Part 2. I remember her from that, but also from a few appearances on television's Ryan's Hope.
Taylor hadn't done a lot of acting after a lengthy run on Loving, but she resurfaced in Friday the 13th:Nine Lives in 2020. Already a popular guest, especially at horror cons, Taylor sparked new interest from that more recent role. A whole new generation of fans wanted to meet her.
As for Tony, he spans generations. Everyone wants to meet Tony and not just when he wears my Johngy's Beat short. Tony is a great friend and I appreciate his support over the years. He is a convention pal that grew into a good friend outside of cons.
Gaining friends like Tony is one of the cool parts of conventions for me. My regular circle of friends isn't into the con scene, but through cons, I have expanded that circle to include great folks like Tony.
