Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series in which I create virtual trading cards for celebrities wearing sports jerseys. Today, I continue my season-long alphabetical journey through all Major League Baseball teams.
Jewell Loyd went to Niles West High School, about a mile from my place. After starring at Notre Dame, she has put together an underrated nine year WNBA career with the Seattle Storm. She has averaged 15.6 points per game, while making four All-Star games. She has been a key part of the Storm winning two WNBA titles. Loyd earned her Celebrity Jersey Card tossing a ceremonial pitch for the Seattle Mariners. I can't help but imagine how cool it would be if she was with her hometown Chicago Sky, tossing a pitch for the Cubs.
A native of Washington, Brock Huard starred at the University of Washington, before being drafted by his home state Seattle Seahawks. Huard played three seasons with the Seahawks, followed by two with the Indianapolis Colts and one back with the Seahawks. After his playing career, Huard entered the world of broadcasting. His brother Damon also spent several years in the NFL. Huard traded a football for a baseball as he threw a ceremonial pitch for his home state Mariners.
