Celebrity Jersey Cards #653 Derek Sanderson & Bob Cousy

Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series in which I create virtual trading cards for celebrities wearing sports jerseys. Today, I continue my season-long alphabetical journey through all Major League Baseball teams.

Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, Derek Sanderson grew up to be a star for 13 seasons of pro hockey. The first seven of his seasons were spent with the Boston Bruins. He was on two Stanley Cup winners and he also won the Calder Trophy for the 1967-68 season. In 389 games, he scored 135 goals and became a Boston legend. He was celebrated with other Boston athletes at Fenway Park, earning his Celebrity Jersey Card.

New York native Bob Cousy was one of the earliest stars in the NBA. The "Houdini of the Hardwood" was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1971. Cousy played 13 seasons with the Boston Celtics and was a 13x All-Star. Seven years after retiring, he played seven games for Cincinnati, while he coached the team. Like Sanderson, Couy was honored by teh Red Sox and now is honored with a Celebrity Jersey Card.
