Celebrity Jersey Cards #658 Mackenzie O'Brien & Jim Peterik

Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series in which I create virtual trading cards for celebrities wearing sports jerseys. Today, I continue my season-long alphabetical journey through all Major League Baseball teams.

Chicago-area native taught herself how to play guitar at the age of 14. Nicknamed Hummingbird for her habit of humming made up melodies, the moniker became a symbol for her music and the title of her song and video in 2020. O'Brien can often be found playing around Chicagoland, but she has made several trips to Nashville and elsewhere playing her music. I saw her live a few years back and talked to her after the performance. She was as sweet as she was talented. I also met her father, who was very engaging and proud of his daughter (and rightly so). O'Brien performed the National Anthem for the Chicago White Sox and landed on a Celebrity Jersey Card.

Born in Berwyn, just west of Chicago, Jim Peterik went on to success as a singer/songwriter for The Ideas of March and as the found of Survivor. He has also co-written many songs with others, including the Beach Boys, Cheap Trick and more. Easily recognizable for his colorful hair, when he isn;t performing, he can often be spotted around the Chicago area. He played the National Anthem for the White Sox and landed on an old school Celebrity Jersey Card.
