Celebrity Jersey Cards #667 Robert Smith & Mike McCready

Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series in which I create virtual trading cards for celebrities wearing sports jerseys. Today we detour from football to frozen pond.

Born in England, Robert Smith is best known as the co-founder, lead vocalist, guitarist and main song writer for the Cure. Smith and the Cure were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 and  earlier this year,  Rolling Stone ranked him as the 157th greatest singer of all time. Smith donned the polarizing fisherman jersey of the New York Islanders on stage to earn his Celebrity Jersey Card.

A native of Pensacola, Florida, Mike McCready rose to fame a co-founder and lead guitarist of Pearl Jam. McCready and Pearl Jam were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. McCready suffers from Crohn's Disease and works hard raising awareness and money for the cause. Not a fair0weather fan, McCready is a staunch supporter of the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, Sounders and now Kraken. It is his Kraken fandom which landed him on a Celebrity Jersey Card.
