RIP Scott Blair

I recently learned of the passing of Scott Blair, one of the nicest and first creators I ever met and befriended. Scott, 48, passed on 4/5 after battling brain cancer.

My first glimpse of Scott's work featured WWE women in different costumes outside of their wrestling life. I always thought wrestlers were the perfect subjects for artists, because of their larger-than-life auras and their colorful outfits. Nobody captured that concept better than Scott.

Scott was one of the most popular creators at any convention, and not just because he was accompanied by his beautiful subjects on occasion. Despite the chaos of conventions, Scott always had time to talk wrestling, art, work updates and more with me. I always knew I would get good material from Scott and more importantly, I would get fun. He was simply a genuine person.

At the recent C2E2, there was a small memorial for Scott. It was a nice sign of respect for him and many folks paid their respects.

I will miss you, Scott. You were a fantastic artist and an even better person. Rest in peace, my friend.
