Someday soon, my pal Michael Kingston is going to be the celebrity everyone wants for selfies. Actually, he might already be there.
Michael is the brainchild behind Headlocked, a comic about wrestling and life. A true inspirational story, Michael saw a void in the world of comic books for wrestling. He wanted realistic, but fun adventures. Not seeing any, Michael made his own. They quickly caught the eyes of many in the wrestling community, including Jerry "The King" Lawler, who has drawn many of his covers. Other wrestlers joined the fun, lending their talents to the comic books. The wrestling roster is mind-boggling.
He is also a hustler in the best sense of the word. His schedule of conventions and appearances is crazy, but it is also what makes him successful. While Headlocked isn't an overnight success, it is a great success story.
Of course along the way, Michael meets plenty of wrestlers. Earlier this year, Michael met Alicia Fox in Australia. Currently active on the indy scene, Fox wrestled for the WWE, gaining the Divas championship and the 24/7 title once each.
I might have buried the lead there. Meeting Fox would be cool, but Michael was in Australia. This is the example of how hard he works and how far he travels for his company.
