Cards That Never Were is a recurring series in which I create virtual trading cards for players missed in various sets.
Otis Thornton was selected by the Houston Astros in the 68th round of the 1965 MLB June Amateur Draft. He finally made his MLB in 1973, playing two games, getting three at-bats, but no hits. He did get an RBI though. That would be it for Thornton's MLB career, although he played in the minors through the 1974 season.
Not surprisingly, Thornton did not get any card from Topps. Once again, Lynn from the Custom Baseball Cards Facebook group beat me to it. While I like to use my own creations, I don't feel the need to duplicate anyone's efforts, especially when someone like Lynn does it so well. Custom Baseball Cards is a great group, featuring thousands of digital creations (and not just baseball cards) with many from Lynn.
