The young music lover in me was giddy. Heck, the old music lover in me was giddy, too.
Thanks to my pals Paul and Lori Myers, I met Erik and Ral Donner Jr, sons of the late, great Ral Donner.
Growing up, I was a big fan of music from the 50s and 60s. Ral had a few big hits back then, including "Girl of My Best Friend." Because he sounded similar to Elvis Presley he worked on some projects about the King after his death.
Brothers Ral Jr. and Erik perform regularly in the Chicago area. Though they can have similar sounds, they also have their own styles. They are two talented folks and even better people. I don't see them often, but I see them every chance I get.
Each plays songs from all decades, including stuff from their famous dad. They put on great shows and the crowds love them.
Early 2023, Paul and Lori invited me to a special performance by the brothers, who don't appear together very often. This was a rare chance to see them together and I was not going to miss it.
