Pumpkin Spice Rant

I love pumpkin. I despise pumpkin spice. I still eat pumpkin spice stuff, because that is what most holiday pumpkin foods contain and therein lies my issue.
I have nothing against cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, cloves and any other spice they add. I just don't feel they are needed.
Pumpkin is such a wonderful flavor. I want to savor it on its own. Pumpkin spice masks the real flavor of the pumpkin. Why even bother?
This happens with other food products, too. Potato soup usually contains bacon. Pea soup usually has ham. Kiwi is never alone in jello, as it is always with strawberry, but strawberry has a separate solo jello.
Right now, pumpkin spice is on my mind because I see it everywhere. I would just like to see pumpkin Cheerios, yogurt or anything else without the unnecessary spices.
Am I on an island with this thought?
Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your pumpkin (no spice) pie!

My favorite pumpkin food is pumpkin pie. I'm pretty sure it has some of those spices... so if it's considered a pumpkin spice item... I like it. There's also this cold brew item at Starbucks that has some kind of pumpkin cream on top that is pretty fantastic too.

Fugi, I love pumpkin pie and I agree it contains those spices, but the pumpkin is the main flavor. I don't mind the inclusion of the spices. I just want pumpkin to be the main flavor.
