Yesterday, I featured Loyola graduating ace pitcher Peyton Pepkowski. Today, I feature her pitching mate Andie Broniewicz.
When Pepkowski wasn't pitching, chances are Broniewicz was. In her four seasons, Broniewicz went 32-38 with a 3.74 ERA, limiting opponents to a .281 batting average.
Pepkowski and Broniewicz presented a formidable duo. I also loved seeing the camaraderie and support between the two. I often saw them in the bullpen area. One was warming up, while the other was watching, noting, advising etc.)
Like Pepkowski, Broniewicz is a class act, always greeting me and thanking me for my coverage and support. She will be missed on and off the field.
Players leave schools and are missed. New players arrive and new friendships are formed on the team and new fandoms in the stands. It's bittersweet, but part of life. I am just grateful to be there to see it all.
I wish Broniewicz the best of life where she goes. I thank her for so much fun following her career.
