Parker Stevenson at Motor City Comic Con 2013

Motor City Comic Con, May 17-19, is about 2 weeks away. While I count down the days, I look back on some of my favorite moments over the years at MCCC.
Like millions of other boys, I was a big fan of The Hardy Boys book series when I was a youngster. I was a young teenager when The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries aired on television. It was an interesting show in concept, because the stories attracted the boys, while heart throb actors Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson attracted the girls. Basically, it appealed to all youngsters.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Parker at MCCC 2013. That interview can be found at On the Beat with Parker Stevenson. I like to think I improved a lot since that interview. Now, I would have asked more about the show's target demographic, because I think it is very interesting hwo they did that. I'd also ask more about his photography. Obviously, he is very talented and I am sure he would have talked more about this, because most interviewers wouldn't have brought it up.
Under the constraints of the convention, I did okay and it was very short. At least I was able to log in an interview with Parker. I am very happy with that.
Parker has remained busy in show business and with his photography. He has been very cool at every convention where I have seen him.

Parker Stevenson at REWind Con 2016

Parker Stevenson had been acting for a few years and was starting to build an excellent resume, when he was cast as elder brother Frank Hardy in television's The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries.  The show, which co-starred Shaun Cassidy, was vry popular over the three season run.

Stevenson has kept busy acting since then, but he has also followed his passion of photography.  You can check out his work and get more info at ParkerStevensonShadowWorks.com.

I had the pleasure of interviewing him a few years back and that can be found at On the Beat With Parker Stevenson.  Last year, at REWind Con, we talked to him about his photography.  Actually, it started as he gave us tips when we were taking pictures with him.  It's not often I get tips from a real professional photographer, especially one as famous as Stevenson.  His work is outstanding.  He is not just an actor with a hobby.

He's also a nice guy.  He talked with us for several minutes, even remembering me from the interview years ago.  I look forward to seeing him again and hopefully doing an update interview.

Parker Stevenson Still Looks Hardy

Another childhood favorite of mine was The Hardy Boys.  I used to love reading the books and later I enjoyed the tv show starring Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy.  At the Motor City Comic Con in 2013, I had the pleasure of interviewing Stevenson.  That can be found at On the Beat with Parker Stevenson.

At the recent Hollywood Celebrities Show, I got caught up with Stevenson.  He is just a nice guy.  We were joking about some silly convention stuff, cameras and other fans.  It was like two old friends just hanging out.

No matter how many of these celebs I meet, I still freak out seeing the pictures.  All of those years ago, I never imagined I'd be meeting all of my childhood favorites.

When Parker Stevenson was playing Frank Hardy on tv's The Hardy Boys, I was totally ensconced in reading the Hardy Boys books.  Naturally, I loved the series (not to mention the symmetry).

Stevenson always seemed like a nice guy, from my tv watching viewpoint.  It was a pleasure to find out at the Motor City Comic Con that he really is that nice.  He gave us an unscheduled interview and I really think he would have talked to us longer, if not for the watchful eye of his assistant who hurried him along a bit.  I am not complaining, but just trying to show how cool Stevenson was.

We talked a bit about the Hardy Boys and about conventions.  Stevenson was fun and easy-going.  It was a fun, although short, interview.  Some day I hope to talk to him more in-depth.

I'd like to ask him about being in the original cast of Baywatch.  I'd like to talk to him about his recurring role on Melrose Place.  The youthful Stevenson has been acting since 1972 and has done many interesting things.  Maybe I will get another chance to talk to him at a future convention.
