Bear Down Sunday #2

The Bears lost last week and stand at 0-1. Cutler had a rough day and Urlacher went down for the season.
Last week, I featured Connie Payton, widow of Walter Payton, the greatest running back ever. Today, I am highlighting Robin Earl, one of Payton's running mates.
Earl was a big back who was eventually switched to tight end. Earl played 6 seasons with the Bears and 2 years in the USFL with the Birmingham Stallions. Earl was one of those guys who you just liked watching play, even if he didn't put up great numbers.
After football, he has had a successful business career. I met him at a charity bowling event about 15 years ago. He was awesome.. He talked and joked about his ex-teammates.

Robin Earl and me in Arlington Heights, IL-mid 90's.
