After the Thanksgiving break, I received the sad news that Harry "Bud" Parker had passed away. Bud is Scott's father and Matt and Sam's grandfather. He is also married to Joan and they have 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
I didn't see Bud very often, especially since he (and Joan) moved to Texas. My biggest and best memory of him was actually at the wedding of Scott and Jean. It was about halfway through the night and we met near the bar. We talked for a few minutes and Bud seemed so very happy. Bud was usually a quiet man, but at that moment, we talked like two old high school buddies.
I realized then and had it confirmed several times over the years that Bud loved his family dearly. I saw it when he held my nephew Matt as a newborn. I saw it again when he held my niece Sam I saw it whenever he was around his family.
Bud was a good man and he will be missed by all. My prayers and thoughts go out to the entire Parker family, especially Joan, one of the kindest people I have ever known. An online guestbook can be found at Legacy.com.
