On the Beat with Jim Craig

A couple weeks ago, Jim Craig appeared at a MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island (IL).  He was appearing to promote heart health.  Craig's father died of an abdominal aortic aneurism.
Johngy's Beat Executive Producer Matt Parker worked his magic and secured an interview with Craig, despite the time constraints and the large crowd.  We were able to ask one question.  Granted, one question doesn't make for a great interview, but in situations like this, you take what you can get.
With that one question, I wanted to ask him a question which would encompass his entire career.  I asked him to compare winning the Olympic gold to being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.  His answer is below.
It was a thrill meeting and talking to Craig, even if it was all too brief.  The man is a legitimate American hero.  The image of him, draped in the flag, after the Olympic victory is one of those iconic pictures which I will never forget and which always gives chills.
