On the Beat with Bork Bork Bork at Windy City Rollers

When we got out first taste of the Windy City Rollers, Scott Beatty (Lead interviewer and all around big shot) and I immediately learned that the talented women all used pseudonyms.  We had a fun time checking out the interesting names that these ladeis used.  One name really stood out to Scott.  Maybe I should say three names stood out.
Bork Bork Bork
Yep, that's right.  In a land where the athletes use tough names like "Billie Mean King" and "Jailya Roberts," the concept of a Muppet-inspired name really intrigued us.  We put in a request to interview her on the next game night and last Saturday, we got our wish.
Bork is the Captain of the Manic Attackers and wears #75.  She has been skating with WCR since 2009.  She has also skated for the Second Wind and the Windy City All-Stars.  Bork Bork Bork is good good good.
Scott Scott Scott (oh God, three Scott's are 2.5 too many) interviewed the triple-named threat after her game.  Bork Bork Bork was fun and interesting.  They talked about how she got her name, how she got into derby and other topics.  Like the other skaters we have interviewed already, Bork Bork Bork (I just love typing that) showed her enthusiasm, dedication, humor and also her respect for the women who preceded her in roller derby.
I really enjoy these women and attending Windy City Rollers events.  The next game is Saturday, May 4.  I really encourage everyone to check out Rollers.  A night at WCR is a night of fun!
