On the Beat with Tamikaze of the Windy City Rollers

For our second night at a Windy City Rollers game night, Scott Beatty and I witnessed the Manic Attackers beat Hell's Belle's 168-76 and the Fury beat the Double Crossers 227-112.  The Fury now stands at 3-0, the Manic Attackers 2-1, Hell's Belles 1-2 and the Double Crossers are 0-3 (much to Scott's dismay).
Thanks to the hospitality of the Windy City Rollers organization, we once agin got to interview four of their skaters.  First up is Tamikaze, a four year veteran of the Manic Attackers and an All-Star.  She is also a mom of three and has a job outside of roller derby.  Maybe her name should be High D. Energy (sorry, bad pun).  I talked to Tamikaze about her career, her future and more.
These women continue to impress me on and off the track  In 2010, Tamikaze, Pominatrix, and Abbey entered the Chicago Triathlon Women's Open Relay division and finished 3rd!  In 2011, she joined several WCR mates to raise money for Special Childrens Charities/Special Olympics Chicago by jumping into Lake Michigan on a winter day.  These are just two examples of the quality of women involved in WCR.
Check out WindyCityRollers.com, "like" Windy City Rollers on Facebook and follow WindyCityRoller on twitter to learn more about these and to get all of the news and updates.  Even better, come out on Saturday, May 4 for their next night of action!
