Writing About a Writer

I have always liked discovering authors.  Several years ago, I stumbled across crime writer Gregg Hurwitz.  I think the first book of his that I read was Do No Harm.  Whichever book is was, I know I was hooked right away.  Since then, I have read every one of his books and have enjoyed all of them.
Last year at Wizard World, I had the unique pleasure of interviewing Hurwitz.  It was a very cool sit-down interview at the Hyatt-Rosemont and it can be found at On the Beat with Gregg Hurwitz.
This was such a fun interview for me.  Hurwitz was the first true author I ever interviewed.  Add in the fact that he is one of my favorites makes it that much better.  Then add the fact that we sat in these majestic chairs.  The whole thing felt very professional.
Hurwitz was a great guy, too.  We talked a bit prior to the interview.  Of course, I stumbled a bit on my knowledge of his work, just because I was trying to focus on the upcoming interview.  He handled it all very well and was very thoughtful and interesting with his responses.
I have done a lot of cool things because of this blog.  Meeting and talking to Hurwitz definitely ranks up there in the finer moments.
I love his books and I really enjoyed Hurwitz himself.  I encourage everyone to head to GreggHurwitz.net to check out his books for yourself.
