In late 2013, Smaxl Rose was drafted by the Hell's Belles of the Windy City Rollers. Now she wears #85 for the Hell's Belles, who are currently tied for second place with the Fury.
It was a lot of fun talking to Smax (but it is always fun talking to all of the Windy City Rollers...what a great bunch). There is a funny little story behind her name, but I will let her tell you in the interview below.
She also talks about joining WCR, being drafted by Hell's Belles and a lot more. Like I wrote earlier,. it was a fun interview.
Smax is just one of the fun and athletic women of WCR. I have enjoyed myself each time I have attended a WCR game night. These women put on a great show. It is a tough sport (yes, it is now totally a legit sport) and these ladies are up for the challenge. There are a lot of practices between games.
This roller derby is not the theatrical stuff of yesteryear, but it is just as much fun, if not more. Now it is all real, while still being a load of fun.
