On the Beat With Andrea Filler of the Chicago Bandits 2016

Our recurring coverag ef the 2015 National Pro Fastpitch champion Chicago Bandits brings us to Andrea Filler.  Andrea is a rookie outfielder and a Hall of Famer (more on that later).
Andrea finished her collegiat ecareer with two seasons at Northwestern after transferring from Boston College.  Despite playing only two years for the Wildcats, she ranked inside the Northwestern's top 10 for career doubles, batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, RBI, total bases and home runs.  That is an impact player!
Andrea signed with the Bandits after the draft and has done well in limited playing time.  While it is a relatively small sample size, it bodes well for the rest of the season, as Manager Michael Steuerwald continues to search for offensive pop in the lineup.
In the interview, she discussed playing near her home area, her path to the Bandits, adjusting to life in the NPF and more.  Andrea showed her maturity and respect for the game in talking about her approach to playing time in the NPF.
We also talked about her induction into the National Softball Hall of Fame.  Andrea was very humble about the experience (unlike me, who would carry around a picture of my placque).  Again, this was a sign of the quality of person Andrea is.  She is a welcome addition to the Bandits.
