As we approach the Motor City Comic Con, I am featuring some fun moments from my many years of covering the great event. Maybe it will inspire some of you to go to the event on May 18 through May 20.
Actress and singer Aly Michalka starred on Disney Channel's Phil of the Future as a teenager. Since then, she has done many other projects on television and feature films. She also has pursued a musical career with her sister AJ, as Aly and AJ.
We talked to Aly about getting a start on Disney and continuing her career as an adult. Obviously, the transition can be difficult, but Aly had a great attitude towards it and seems to have made that move successfully.
Aly could also add "photographer" to her resume, though. Since we were on the con floor early to get some interviews, there weren't a lot of people around. After talking to Aly, we wanted a photo together, but couldn't find another person to take the picture. That's when Aly showed us her selfie skills by snapping this picture. I was initially disappointed, but then I started to think it was a better story to have had Aly do this. Now it is one of my favorite pictures from my many years at the MCCC.
I am looking forward to the upcoming MCCC (May 18-20) to create new memories. I hope to see more of my friends there. You can learn all about it at MotorCityComicCon.com.
