Dana DeLorenzo at Flashback Weekend 2018

Dana DeLorenzo is probably best known for her role on Ash vs. Evil Dead, but she has been performing for most of her life. I have been a fan of hers for years and probably even longer than I realize, but I didn't know it was her way back when.
As a child, she did radio commercials for her father's store. She also was a castmate in Tony n' Tina's Wedding in Chicago, her home town. For several years, she was "Marissa Sanchez" on Mancow's Morning Madhouse. She also graduated from DePaul University.
I had met Dana a couple times prior to Flashback Weekend 2018, but I was surprised when she remembered me by name and asked me to come back to chat when it was a little less busy. Thinking it was polite chat, I didn't think much of it, but she waved me over later on and of course, I loved the chance to talk to her a bit more.
Dana is sweet, interesting and even a bit kooky, in a good way. Not many women could pull off that hat look, but it worked great for Dana. She joked that it just covered a bad hair day.
She wanted to take a funny picture and asked me about previous pictures we took. That is truly going above and beyond for a fan (or reporter). I suggested choking me with my press lanyard and she almost literally jumped at the chance. It wasn't good enough for her to merely choke me, she wanted to "hang" me and jumped on the chair to really sell it.
Look at her face. I think she actually enjoyed this! Some celebrities will do offbeat pictures, but few will do them with as much gusto as Dana, but that's just her!
I think Dana is just doing what comes natural, but it is also good for business. I know I will stop and see her every time at future conventions, no matter how many times I have seen her. I know this picture attracted other fans, too.
You can follow Dana DeLorenzo on twitter for info and fun tweets from her. You can also check FlashbackWeekend.com for info on future events.
