Cards That Never Were is a recurring series in which I create virtual trading cards for players missed in various sets. It is a concept I have borrowed from far too many to list, but I appreciate all of their efforts.
How did I never know that Terry Bradshaw had a brother who played in the NFL? I live for stuff like this, yet somehow missed this familial connection.
Craig Bradshaw played college ball at Louisiana Tech and Utah State. He was selected by the Houston Oilers in the eighth round of the 1980 NFL Draft. His stats show that he appeared in two games with no other statistics in 1980. I assume he played quarterback but only handed off in his two games. He faced brother Terry in one of those games. They became the first sibling quarterbacks to ever play against each other in an NFL game. That was the extent of his NFL career.
It is easy to understand why Topps did not give Craig a card. Two games rarely merit a card, even if your brother is a future Hall of Fame QB. I couldn't pass the opportunity to give Craig a card, especially with this great picture of him and Terry.
I'm happy with the card, but still bugged by why I never heard of Craig until recently. He's the answer to a fun trivia question, he was a backup QB during my prime watching time and he is Terry's brother. All of these should have put him on my radar. I also question why I never have heard Terry mention him. It's all a mystery to me, but at least I filled a card void.

In the 1967 Philly Gum set, there's a Saints player named Charlie Bradshaw (who was just picked from the STEELERS in the expansion draft). He looks like he could be related to Terry.
