Happy Birthday Cuzz!

Today is Cuzz Gekas is having birthday. Join me in honoring one of my best friends on his special day.

I met Cuz through his cousins Jim and Chuck. Because two Chuck Gekases would be confusing (for my small brain), we started calling him Cuzz.

Born out of necessity, the nickname really fits him and he has embraced it fully. It seems serendipitous that it played out this way, because I can't imagine him not being Cuzz (with no disrespect to his given name).

Anyway and more importantly, Cuzz is one of the greatest people I know. As my roadtrip convention pal, Cuzz has gladly taken the role of my "producer" at the conventions and I appreciate his "work" there.

It's not just his work though. It's all else. We have trivia quizzes, silliness, deep religious conversations and more. I have learned a lot from Cuzz and I know I am a better person because of him.

One of my favorite memories from cons with Cuzz happened last year when he took the interview lead when we had with former boxer-turned-actor Jack O'Halloran. If you go to On the Beat with Jack O'Halloran at Motor City Comic Con 2018, you will see Cuzz did great. Becaus eof how much I appreciate Cuzz at these events, I always want to make sure he has fun and he has good memories. I think this interview accomplished that for him.

I always look forward to the out of town cons and hanging with Cuzz is a big part of the reason. I know it will always be totally fun.

Happy birthday Cuzz. I hope it's a great day and I look forward to our next convention!
