Allazia Blockton and the Marquette Golden Eagles

Allazia Blockton is a senior guard on the Marquette Golden Eagles women's basketball team. The native of Milwaukee, WI was highly recruited during her high school career at Domican, where she scored more than 2,000 points.
Since arriving at Marquette, Allazia has racked up quite a few honors. She was the 2015-16 Big East Freshman of the Year and a second team Big East Selection. In 2016-17, she was a unanimous Big East first team selection. Last season she earned many honors, including Big East Player of the Year, a unanimous Big East first team selection and Big East Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award. She has also been a Big East All-Academic selection every year.
At Media Day, Coach Carolyn Kieger stated big things were expected of Allazia this season and she has been living up to the expectations. Allazia has started all 11 games this season and is third on the team with minutes played (289). She averages 18.6 points per game to lead the team, while chipping in with 33 steals, 46 rebounds, 2 blocked shots and 10 steals. She is 2nd on the team in shooting percentage (.512) and 4th on team team in 3 point percentage (.412)
The Golden Eagles are 9-2 on the season, good for 1st place in the Big East Conference. They have outscored opponents 943-646 and have similarly large advantages in virtually every statistical  category. Their domination is a great sign, although they have yet to play a conference game. Still, once conference play starts, there is no reason to think this will change much.
This team is loaded with talent. This team knows how good it can be and wants to avenge their championship game loss of last season.
