Butch Patrick at Wizard World St. Louis 2017

Wizard World is coming to Chicago August 22-24. While looking forward to that great weekend, I am recalling some of the many fun times I have had over the  many years I have covered Wizard World her and in other cities.
A couple years ago, Jack and I ventured to St. Louis, MO for Wizard World. One of the celebrity guests on my list was former child actor Butch Patrick. While I have met Patrick several times, it is always fun catching up with him and hearing a couple new (or old) stories.
Patrick rose to fame on tv's The Munsters. Later, he appeared on Lidsville, a fun Saturday morning show. Like a lot of child stars back then, his career stalled a bit, but nostalgia and comic conventions have increased interest and opportunities for him. He is a very popular guest at Wizard World.
Patrick's stepfather was Ken Hunt, former Major League Baseball player. Hunt appeared on The Munsters on the episode where Herman tried out for the Dodgers. Patrick recalls that time fondly, as he does the rest of his experience on the show.
Despite the show ending over 50 years ago, it is still popular in reruns. This is one of the many reasons why Patrick is so popular at public appearances.
Patrick is doing well these days, having beaten prostate cancer. He seems to be enjoying life and fans enjoy seeing him.
The Wizard World Chicago celebrity list isn't totally revealed, but so far it is a solid lineup including Jason Momoa and Melissa Joan Hart. Go to WizardWorld.com for updated lists and more info..
