The Ludex Card Show in Rosemont, IL is a relatively new card show, but it has quickly become a regular stop of mine. Held in the Skyline Room across from Allstate Arena, it has really quickly grown in popularity.
Earlier this year, former Major League Baseball player John Cangelosi made an appearance at the CSAC (Chicagoland Sports Appearance Connection) booth. Starting with two seasons with the Chicago White Sox, Cangelosi spent 13 seasons in the MLB as an outfielder. He also made three appearances as a pitching, allowing only one hit and no runs in four innings.
Despite being 60 and out of pro ball for 24 years, Cangelosi looked like he could still roam the outfield for a team. Cangelosi was really cool and thanked everyone for coming out.
CSAC is a great source for info on all sports appearances in the area. The CSAC website features an appearance schedule, recaps, merchandise and more. You can join CSAC and save on all appearances, too. It's a great deal and pays for itself very quickly.
Ludex Card Show is now on my calendar. I look forward to meeting more great athletes and getting interesting memorabilia.
