Celebrity Jersey Cards is a weekly series in which I create virtual trading cards for celebrities wearing jerseys. Today, I continue a season-long march alphabetically through all MLB teams.
Massachusetts native Tommy Heinsohn played college basketball at Holy Cross, ebfore embarking on a Hall of Fame basketball career with the Boston Celtics. Heinsohn was Rookie of the Year and eventually Coach of the Year, before being inducted into the Basketball HOF as a player and a coach. For his many achievements with the Celtics, Heinsohn was known as "Mr. Celtic." Naturally, his Celebrity Jersey Card features him repping the Boston Red Sox and just as natural, former teammate Jo Jo White is by his side.
Born in Missouri, Joseph "Jo Jo" White starred at the University of Kansas before being selected by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 1969 NBA draft. He played 11 seasons with the Celtics, before finishing his career with one season each with the Golden State Warriors and the Kansas City Kings. Like his former coach and Celebrity Jersey Card mate, White alsio was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. White's former teammate Tommy Heinsiohn makes a cameo appearance on his Celebrity Jersey Card.
