Hurricane Shane Helms and Mighty Molly at C2E2 2020

Gregory Shane Helms started wrestling when he was 17. He went on to a solid career, wrestling in several companies and most notably winning the World Championship Wrestling Cruiserweight and Hardcore titles. He is currently a backstage producer for WWE.
Helms is a big fan of the Green Lantern. While in the WWE, he adopted the gimmick of a superhero called "The Hurricane." It was a questionable gimmick, but Helms made it work and he gained a lot of popularity. Sometimes you never know what gimmicks will work and sometimes a gimmick will really bring out a wrestler's personality. In this case, Helms really did a great job and deserves a lot of credit.
The Hurricane was so popular, he was given a superhero sidekick in "Mighty Molly," formerly known as Molly Holly. Like Helms, Holly (Nora Greenwald) really brought life to the character. The pair were great together. They had great chemistry.
The WWE recently announced Holly as the first inductee into the Hall of Fame Class of 2021. It's a well-deserved honor. I wrote more about it at Molly Holly Announced as Inductee in WWE HOF 2021 for Global Women's Sports Radio.
At C2E2 last year, the pair appeared together, much to the delight of their fans. It says a lot that so many years later, they still have a huge following. Credit goes to them for embracing the characters to this day.
Both were fantastic at C2E2. They were engaging and happy to talk wrestling, comics and all else.
Because of the pandemic, C2E2 has been postponed to December 2021, but I will be back "On the Beat" when it finally happens. Until then, check C2E2.com for news and updates.
