Pinfalls: WWE SummerSlam 2021

Pinfalls is back, with a look at WWE's SummeSlam PPV airing Saturday, August 21, starting at 7 PM EST with the kickoff show. For Pinfalls: WWE SummerSlam 2021, Candace Cordelia and I are joined by guest analyst Tommy Else.

Tommy comes to us with a resume that includes his current reign as the Southside Occupational Academy champ and a former stretch as a tag team champ (with Brady Pierce in Body Magic) at Resistance Pro Wresting. A personal trainer by trade, Tommy is also my co-host on The Johngy OR Else Podcast.

Candace and I are 11-7 over the first three episodes of Pinfalls. Last month's guest Adam Barnard was 4-3 to take the victory for Pinfalls: Money in the Bank. Therefore, Tommy is not only competing against us this month, but against Adam's record.

In addition to our SummerSlam analysis, we discuss the possibility of Charlotte Flair leaving the WWE for All Elite Wrestling or elsewhere. With her husband already in AEW and her father rumored to be on the way here, will Charlotte follow?

We end with a general discussion of AEW, including tonight's Rampage event at Chicago's United Center. Tommy and I will be there watching and Candace will be there in spirit, but will CM Punk be there? We talk about him, AJ Lee and other intersting possibilities.

Pinfalls: WWE Money in the Bank 2021

Candace Cordelia and I are back with Pinfalls, our look at the upcoming WWE PPV. After some consideration, we are keeping the Pinfalls name.

On this episode, we welcome Adam Barnard, our first guest analyst. Adam writes for KulturePopped.com and hosts the Foundation Radio podcast.

Adam joins Candace and me as we dive into WWE's Money in the Bank to be shown Sunday, July 18.

Candace and I are both 8-3 over the first two episodes of Pinfalls, with a lot of agreement. Of the 11 matches, we only disagreed on two and we split those.

Spoiler alert: There is a fair amount of agreement on these MitB matches, but when we disagreed, it was a full threeway split. When we agreed, often there were differing thoughts leading to our conclusions. Either way, it was fun dissecting the MitB card.

Resurfacing from our dive into the card, I brought up my frustration with the current inconsistencies in the Alexa Bliss storyline, as well as my utter disdain for Lilly. Candace and Adam gave their points, raising some interesting issues.

Candace then turned the discussion to Mandy Rose's appearance on NXT. The three of us debated what we hoped to see from her.

Other notable things we learned in this episode is Adam's issue with Riddle, his thoughts on Philly cheesesteaks, his unwillingness to take back Nick Foles and more. Candace and I appreciate Adam for joining us and we encourage all to check out Foundation Radio and KulturePopped.

Lastly, I want to congratulate Candace on her article in Pro Wrestling Illustrated, as we discuss near the end of Pinfalls. I'm sure it is just the first of many to come for my talented co-host.

Pinfalls: Hell in a Cell 2021

Through my writing for Global Women's Sports Radio, I started another project with GWSR writer Candace Cordelia. We have started Pinfalls, where we look at the next PPV, making predictions and discussing relevant women's issues in wrestling.

Last time, Candace and I looked at WWE: WrestleMania Backlash. We agreed on all the matches and went a perfect 5-0. This time, we look at WWE's Hell in a Cell, which will airs tonight. There are six matches and we finally have different picks on some of the matches, but you'll have to watch the video to find out which ones.

The Hell in a Cell lineup is:

-SmackDown Women's Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley in a Hell in a Cell match

-Raw Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair.

-Alexa Bliss vs. Shayna Baszler.

-WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell

-Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

-Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro

The previously listed match of WWE Universal Champ Roman Reigns defending against Rey Mysterio was moved to SmackDown. yesterday. Reigns came away with the victory.

Candace and I also discuss the storyline involving Alexa Bliss and Lilly and the significance of half of the matches on this show being women's matches. We both have our own takes on both situations, but are in total agreement that it is fantastic to have so much women's wrestling being such a big part of the conversation right now.
