I Experienced "Growing Pains" at REWind Con 2016

Debuting in September of 1985, Growing Pains ran on television for seven seasons.  Life with the Seavers was always fun.  Late last year at REWind Con, I got to spend some time with some of the cast.
Tracey Gold (Carol) is a real sweetheart.  Prior to the event, I had done some promotion on twitter and she retweeted everything.  She even recognized and thanked me when she saw me.
After I got a picture with her, she asked if I wanted a picture with her former castmates Jeremy Miller (Ben) and Alan Thicke (Dr. Mike).  How could I pass up that chance.  It was almost like being part of the Seaver family.  Johngy Seaver?
Miller and Thicke were really nice, too.  They thanked me (and every other fan) for coming.  They seemed to be having a good time together.
It's hard to believe that show ended almost 25 years ago.  Honestly, these three looked great though.
Sadly, Thicke passed away late in 2016.  I am so glad I got to meet him.  I always advise fans not to miss opportunities to meet their favorites, because you just never know.

Rewind Con, Tracey Gold and Many More Are Here!

Along wih millions of others, I watched Tracey Gold play Carol Seaver on the television sitcom Growing Pains.  I have also had the pleasure of meeting Tracey several times and she is a real sweetheart.
I am really looking forward to seeing her again this weekend at Rewind Con.  Rewind Con is bringing in your favorite stars of the 80's, 90's and beyond.  My preview of Rewind Con for the Patch can be found at Rewind Con is Coming!
I am so excited about Rewind Con.  It is a debuting con with a fresh concept.  I have never seen so many new faces on the con scene.  I also haven't seen as many daytime stars in a celebrity guest lineup.
There are hunks and hotties from such daytime shows as General Hospital, One Life to Live, Days of Our Lives, The Young & Restless and more.  There is also a mini-reunion of the cast of Beverly Hills 90210 and other night time shows.
Tracey will be joined by her Growing Pains castmates Alan Thicke and Jeremy Miller.  It will be y first time meeting those two.
I see Rewind Con being a big success.  There are already plans for Rewind Con in Dallas, Atlanta, New York, St. Louis and Orlando.  I am glad to be on board from the debut.
Stay tuned to the Johngy's Beat Facebook page, the Johngy's Beat twitter page and the Johngy's Beat Instagram page for updates at the con and after it, too!  Check back here for a full recap.

Rewinding To Tracey Gold

Tracey Gold starred as Carol Seaver for years on tv's Growing Pains.  While I would love to have been a tv star, it had to be tough growing up on tv, like Tracey did.
In high school, she suffered from dyslexia.  During the show's run, she battled anorexia.  After the show, she had a DUI charge.  Each is challenging enough without every detail being reported by the press.  Tracey and her family stood tall and survived.
I met Tracey (and her husband Roby Marshall) at several years ago.  Tracey seems to be doing great now.  We talked about her struggles and her perseverance.  She looked great and sounded very relaxed and happy.  As a side not, her husband doubled as the photog for the picture below.
In about a month, at Rewind Con I will be meeting Tracey again.  Rewind Con will have over 75 stars of the 80's, 90's and beyond.  The celebrity list is crazy good.  You can read all of the details in my story on the Patch at Rewind Con Is Coming.  I am looking forward to seeing Tracey and so many other of my favorites.  I know I will be on overload.
