In 1981, my dad took me to a White Sox game against the Oakland A's at old Comiskey Park. During batting practice, I saw one of my favorite players, Rob Picciolo of the A's, talking with White Sox pitcher Ed Farmer. After their chat, Picciolo came over and talked to me for a bit. I snapped a picture as he signed my program. My photography skills were pretty rough at the time. Maybe I should have stepped back a few inches!
I know Farmer is pretty obscured in the first photo. That's okay, because Farmer went to St. Rita High School. As an alum of Mt. Carmel, I could not give too much publicity to a St. Rita guy, especially after the Mustangs beat the Caravan last night.
Finally, I am taking a guess and saying the other White Sox player in that photo is Wayne Nordhagen. Maybe some bloggers who study baseball cards (like White Sox Cards and 88 Topps Cards) might have a better guess.
