On the Beat with Ms. Dr. Joseph Simonis of the Windy City Rollers 2014

At last moth's exciting night of action with the Windy City Rollers, we talked to WCR rookie Ms. Dr. Joseph Simonis.  Simonis is a member of the Double Crossers, which naturally means that Scott Beatty handled the interviewing duties.
Simonis is very interesting and we only scratched the surface.  Her page site, JosephLSimonis.com, states that she is a "gender-non-conforming athlete, activist, and scientist."  That is quite a combination.  She has accomplished a lot, on and off the flat track.
This is just another example of the quality of people associated with WCR.  These athletes are dedicated, tough and entertaining.  They also have separate lives sometimes completely different from their roller derby persona.
I highly encourage everyone to check out the next big night of WCR derby action on Saturday, May 17 ad they compete for the Ivy Cup.  It is a guaranteed fun night for all.
